The Peakture Balvanyos Hotel is an extension of the Grand Hotel Balvanyos and the Grand Santerra Spa.
Connected underground to the existing buildings, the Peakture Hotel has 45 accommodation units in different typologies (double rooms, suites, apartments, rooms for people with disabilities and service apartments) on the upper floors, two conference rooms and administrative offices. The basement and semi-basement of the building are dedicated to the spa function, equipped with a semi-Olympic swimming pool and a children's area with interactive water games. The spa also features relaxation areas and treatment rooms. The reception, bar, lobby and breakfast room are located on the ground floor, in an open-plan space, which opens on the long side to a generous terrace and a panoramic mountain view.
In total, the hotel has an area of 6576 sqm distributed over 7 levels, two underground and five above-ground levels.
The volume follows and uses the slope of the natural terrain to connect to the existing buildings and to relate to the landscape. Thus, the new extension articulates the proportions and dimensions of the ensemble through gradual volumetric relationships that maintain the balance and complexity of the composition in its entirety. In relation to the landscape, the volumetry of the building has clearly defined limits, in the modernist spirit of the original hotel.
The six typologies of accommodation units respond to the different needs of the complex's clients, while offering uninterrupted views of the forest and mountains. The south-facing rooms benefit from terraces and those facing north have generously sized windows. Simple, with a clear geometry and light colors, their interior discreetly supports the view and beauty of nature.
In the same spirit, on the ground floor of the building, the reception, lobby, bar and breakfast room are characterized by a calm atmosphere, created with the help of natural colors and materials, as well as by the direct relationship with the main terrace that lets the landscape dominate the impressions. In the spa area, the pool room was specially designed to welcome families with children, hotel guests or external guests. From the reception, the circuit leads you through the generous changing rooms and the shower area to the pools and then to an intimate terrace outside.
The semi-Olympic pool for training and relaxation and the splash-pad area with interactive elements for children are the two points of attraction of the room, they are marked and separated in space by light and color - white and blue.
